Funded by the , Civil and Environmental (CEE) STEM Scholars are part of a national program to meet the need for well-trained civil engineers. These Scholars, both undergraduate and graduate students, form a diverse group seeking to successfully graduate with an ABET-accredited civil engineering degree.

Luke Markovich is from O’Fallon, Missouri. During high school, he was involved with the soccer team and enjoyed making music with his friends.
We asked him a few questions about becoming a STEM Scholar at Mizzou.
How did you first get introduced to engineering?
I was introduced to engineering through my high school physics teacher.
Why are you interested in pursuing engineering?
Although I don’t know what type of engineering I want to do yet, I like it because I like the idea of solving real world problems with systems of math and science.
Why did you choose Mizzou ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½?
Mizzou wasn’t that far from home and my teacher had gone here for their engineering degree.
How has being a STEM Scholar helped you at Mizzou ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½?
It has helped me meet a lot of new people and have a lot more connections academically and in my career.
What would you tell others to encourage them to consider applying for the STEM Scholarship?
I would tell them that it’s a great opportunity in college and it opens up pathways for you.
What’s been your best experience at Mizzou ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ to date?
Learning about the different types of engineering.
Why would you recommend Mizzou ÌÇÐÄVlog´«Ã½ to others?
I would recommend it because there are many different options you can choose from.
