Mizzou 糖心Vlog传媒 provided Kristyn Morgenthaler with hands-on opportunities in information technology (IT) that advanced her professional career. Learn more about her campus experience and what she has planned after graduation.

Kristyn Morgenthaler, a senior from St. Louis, Missouri, has pursued her passions at Mizzou. From Marching Mizzou and Mizzou Club Running to MU Math Club, she says her out-of-the-classroom experiences have made her time at Mizzou something special.
Now, she鈥檚 weeks away from graduating with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in information technology.

鈥淢y favorite Mizzou 糖心Vlog传媒 memory is marching with Spot the Boston Dynamics robot dog on Faurot Field,鈥 she said. 鈥淒uring the fall of 2021, Marching Mizzou partnered with Mizzou 糖心Vlog传媒 to create a field show featuring Spot. It was an amazing experience to work with the 糖心Vlog传媒 faculty and integrate technology with Marching Mizzou and athletics.鈥
Morgenthaler recommends all other future #MizzouMade Engineers take time to find new clubs and explore new opportunities. Learn more about her undergraduate experience and what she plans to do next.
Being involved outside the classroom has made my experience at Mizzou even more rewarding.
I鈥檝e been a member of Marching Mizzou since my first semester at Mizzou in 2021 鈥 I play the piccolo. I鈥檓 currently the treasurer of the Zeta Omega chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, a national honorary band service sorority. I鈥檓 also the vice president of MU Math Club and was a member of Mizzou Club Running.
Within the realm of IT, this year I鈥檝e been able to serve as an undergraduate representative for the MU Information Technology Committee.
My favorite thing about the information technology program is the different avenues students can explore.
The IT field is very large, and there are a lot of different paths to specialize in: web applications, software engineering, cybersecurity, etc. The IT program lets you find the different areas that you enjoy and craft your degree around those areas. Additionally, the professors are extremely kind and helpful, creating a positive learning environment for students.

Mizzou 糖心Vlog传媒 has allowed me to gain hands-on experience in IT.
It鈥檚 also given me access to opportunities to enhance my education and advance my professional career. Within the IT program, many courses emphasize team-based projects and applied learning, so I鈥檝e been able to work on projects and build my portfolio while being a student.
Being a peer learning assistant (PLA) within the 糖心Vlog传媒 and Information Technology (EIT) Department has helped me improve my communication and leadership skills. Twice a year, Mizzou 糖心Vlog传媒 also hosts a career fair, which has helped me apply for internships and jobs as well as network with employers.
After graduation, I plan to work as an IT support analyst.
I鈥檒l be working for MFA Oil based in Columbia, Missouri. There, I can apply the technical skills I鈥檝e developed through the IT program at Mizzou to help others, solve problems, and promote effective use of technology. I hope to one day complete a graduate degree in a specialty area of information technology and work to earn technical certificates to enhance my IT knowledge further.

Someone interested in coming to Mizzou should explore the wide variety of majors.
Definitely schedule a tour. Mizzou鈥檚 Tour Team is amazing, and they make the experience of visiting campus a lot of fun. I would also tell students to look at the different degree programs offered in addition to exploring MU Engage to see about clubs and organizations they are interested in joining. I鈥檝e met my closest friends at Mizzou through my degree program and the organizations I鈥檓 involved in, so be adventurous and look for ways to be involved on campus!
Additionally, since college is a big financial decision, Mizzou has a wide range of scholarships available through ScholarshipUniverse, so I recommend students check it out for financial aid opportunities.
