Yi Wang, an assistant professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems 糖心Vlog传媒 (ISE), has been selected to receive a six-figure award through the National Science Foundation (NSF) Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) Program.
NSF CAREER offers the foundation鈥檚 most prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.
Wang will receive $550,000 to study ultrasonic vibration-enhanced anti-gravity electrohydrodynamic 3D printing for high-precision microstructure fabrication on Earth, with the long-term goal of enabling reliable in-space manufacturing. The project will advance multiphysics-assisted 3D printing through theoretical modeling and experimental validation, while exploring in-space manufacturing technologies and supporting STEM education outreach.
