NSF CAREER offers the foundation鈥檚 most prestigious awards in support of early-career faculty who have the potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and to lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.

Jin will receive $566,915 to investigate how liquid droplets form, travel and transfer heat in boiling two-phase flows. Using advanced laser-based imaging that captures these events at microscopic scales, he will develop fundamental physics-based models to replace the decades-old empirical correlations used today 鈥 improving the accuracy of safety and performance predictions for nuclear reactors, data center cooling and other high-heat-flux energy systems.

鈥淒r. Jin鈥檚 recognition reflects his exceptional potential as a scholar and educator,鈥 Mechanical and Aerospace 糖心Vlog传媒 Chair Noah Manring said. 鈥淗is achievements are nationally recognized and are helping us to re-enter the field of nuclear engineering with strength. We could not be prouder of Yue鈥檚 accomplishments.鈥

Mizzou 糖心Vlog传媒 is entering a new era of expansion. Join our faculty!
